In wealth management, success is often measured in assets, growth, or revenue. But for Jonathan Foster, one of the clearest measures of a meaningful career is simpler: whether you can look back and know you acted with integrity.

In the latest episode of Work Ethic, Ethic CEO Doug Scott sits down with Foster—CEO of Angeles Wealth Management—for a conversation spanning Wall Street, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the values that shape a lasting career. Over the course of the episode, Foster reflects on an unconventional path into finance, the lessons that led him from brokerage into the fiduciary model, and why building a great firm starts with betting on people.

Key takeaways from the episode include:

  • Ethics before ambition: Why there are moments in every career when doing the right thing matters more than keeping your job.
  • Career as a process of elimination: Why building a career is often less about finding your calling immediately and more about moving steadily away from what doesn’t fit.
  • Betting on people: Why great firms are built by attracting talented people, empowering them, and making them feel like true partners in the business.
  • The fiduciary shift: How moving from brokerage to advisory changed Foster’s view of what it means to serve clients well.
  • Legacy beyond wealth: Why the most meaningful work with clients often begins once money is no longer the central concern—and the deeper questions become purpose, family, and impact.

Whether you’re building a business, leading a team, or thinking about the future of wealth management, Foster’s perspective offers a thoughtful look at leadership that you won’t want to miss.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
