How our approach to data helps ensure that clients’ values-aligned strategies are built on solid ground.
by Kellen Parker
Key Takeaways
- We build from trusted sources.
For every issue we track—like hazardous waste or forced labor—we start with a diverse mix of high-quality inputs: company reports, third-party research, watchdogs, and news media. - We define norms to spot anomalies.
By establishing baselines for each company and industry, we can quickly identify outliers and investigate values that fall outside expectations. - We flag and quarantine questionable data.
If a data point doesn’t hold up to scrutiny, it’s quarantined and excluded from portfolio consideration until it can be validated with our partners.
When clients trust us to align their portfolios with their values, they’re also trusting the quality of the data behind every investment decision. At Ethic, we take that responsibility seriously.
In this video, we offer a behind-the-scenes look at how our data team sources, validates, and continually monitors the data that powers our sustainability model. From building strong baselines to flagging outliers and quarantining questionable values, our approach combines scale, expertise, and human judgment. It’s all part of our commitment to making sure values-aligned investing is backed by rigorous data.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
