Proactive Tax Management and Reporting

Proactive Tax Management and Reporting

1 Min Read

Ethic’s platform gives advisors clear, detailed visibility into the tax management activity taking place within their clients’ portfolios. Through our Client Tax Reporting, you can view harvested losses, track realized gains, and understand tax loss harvesting activity throughout the year.

This transparency helps you bring tangible insights into client conversations.

Within the platform, advisors can:

  • Access real-time tax reporting at the household or account level (to find out how, see our interactive demo)
  • View harvested losses and quantify the dollar value of tax savings delivered year-to-date
  • Identify additional opportunities for optimization or gifting analysis
  • Export reports to share with clients or integrate into planning discussions

For accounts enrolled in Ethic’s Tax Aware Management approach, advisors can also request ad-hoc tax-loss harvesting trades on a best-efforts basis during year-end. Note that this is not necessary for accounts set up for Active Tax Management.

‍

Next Steps

If you’d like to request an ad-hoc tax-loss harvesting trade for accounts enrolled in Ethic’s Tax Aware Management approach, see the demo linked here or follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Ethic Platform.
  2. Navigate to Submit Trade Instructions → Adjust Settings → “I would like to make other changes to the account.”
  3. In the free-text field, enter: “Ad hoc TLH Rebalance.”
  4. Please coordinate internally before submitting to avoid duplicate requests.

Requests will be completed on a best-efforts basis and are not guaranteed by year-end. If insufficient losses are available, Ethic will notify you.

For any additional year-end support, contact your Relationship Manager or email clients@ethic.com.
